Present paper seeks by empirical measurement to study concepts of youth’s available capitals (economic, social, and cultural capitals) and occupational identity, relationship of these concepts and their constituents with the youth’s occupational identity. In this research, Marsia theory is used in order to provide a theoretical framework for measuring the concept of occupational identity. For measuring the concept of social capital, a combination of the views of Bourdieu, Lin, Coleman, Patnam and Fokoyama is employed. For measuring the concept of cultural capital, Bourdieu’s Cultural reproduction is employed. For measuring the concept of Occupational identity in present research, it is made use of Dillas Scale of Occupational Identity (DISI-O). Statistical society of this research includes all youths of 15 to 27 years old of Tehran. To determine sample size of the research, Kokeran’s formula was used and the figure of 384 was obtained. In this research, Class Sampling Method is used. Among the research’s main hypotheses, association between social capital and professional identity was confirmed. Among constituents of social capital, relationship of social trust and social protection with professional identity was found significant. Amongst constituents of cultural capital, relationship of the embodied and institutionalized cultural capital with professional identity was confirmed. Among the research’s underlying variables, relationship of age and average marks with professional identity was found significant and relationship between gender and professional identity was not found significant. In the end of the article, research’s results were compared with results of other researches and some suggestions are made.
