Abstract

Purpose and Background:This study aims to conduct a systematic analysis of the research articles published in the Biannual Journal of Education and Learning Studies of Shahed University from 2004 to 2024. The main objective is to examine the trends in scholarly production, research approaches, methodologies, authors’ demographic characteristics, and thematic content of the articles published over the past two decades.
Method: The study employed a quantitative research approach and used quantitative content analysis as its primary method. The statistical population and sample consisted of all 399 articles published across 40 issues of the journal. Data collection instruments included a checklist for quantitative content analysis and a data gathering checklist, both developed for the purpose of this study and validated through expert consultation. Data were analyzed using statistical methods such as frequency counts, percentage distributions, and interpretive analysis.
Findings: The results revealed a significant increase in the number of published articles in the second decade (2014–2024) compared to the first (2004–2014). Analysis of authorship characteristics indicated that among 1,024 authors, 68.8% were male and 30.1% female. Moreover, the majority of authors held doctoral degrees (64.2%), with 12% being PhD students. In terms of academic rank, the highest proportion belonged to the "Others" category (38.5%), followed by assistant professors (32.9%), while full professors accounted for only 7.4%. Regarding collaboration, over 83% of the articles were co-authored, reflecting a strong culture of academic collaboration within the journal.
