Identifying Effective Factors and Designing a Theoretical Model of Critical Thinking Based on a Study Culture in Teenagers

Abstract

The purpose of the current research is to Identifying Effective Factors and Designing a Theoretical Model of Critical Thinking Based on a Study Culture in Teenagers. This research is of mixed type (qualitative and quantitative). In the qualitative section, selected articles were first identified by meta-synthesis method, for this, various factors such as keywords, databases for the years 2000 to 2023 were evaluated and 120 articles were selected. Then, with the library method and review of articles, 60 final articles and in 14 main components (truth-seeking, open-mindedness, analytical, regularity, self-confidence, curiosity, experience and perfection, problem solving, strategic thinking, interpretation, evaluation, power of expression and self-regulation) And 96 indicators were categorized. Also, the fuzzy Delphi qualitative approach was used to identify and confirm the final components and indicators. In this regard, 20 experts in the field of philosophy of education were surveyed and finally 14 dimensions and 89 indicators were confirmed. In the quantitative part, to evaluate the theoretical model of critical thinking based on the study culture in teenagers, a researcher-made questionnaire was prepared and distributed among 384 people. In this section, structural equation approach was used for confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that the culture of studying causes the growth of critical thinking in teenagers and with increasing study, students try to think about problems and therefore their critical thinking skills increase at different levels.
