Identifying the influencing factors on improving the quality of physical education teaching

Abstract

Physical education in schools has a basic importance on social, personal, behavioral and educational changes in the lives of students and preventing their inactivity and lack of movement. The purpose of the present research identifying the factors influencing the improvement of physical education teaching quality in the South Khorasan province schools. The method of this research is practical in terms of purpose and in terms of qualitative method, content analysis strategy is used. The statistical population in this research was the experts and elites related to the field of sports who had the Physical education teaching experience in the schools of South Khorasan province. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview. Content and face validity of framework interview form from experts’ perspectives as well as programmer intra-rater reliability (75%) has been confirmed. The results showed; The effective factors on improving the quality of physical education teaching included three main components: empowering teachers, improving educational strategies and requirements, and synergy of teaching implementation methods, and 15 sub-components and 92 sub-components. According to the results of the research, we can provide educational strategies and requirements to attract and employ capable and expert teachers, so as to increase the implementation methods of physical education lessons by them, to witness the improvement of the quality of physical education teaching in schools, more participation of students, development of motor literacy and create a healthy and active lifestyle in society.
