Abstract

Considering the tremendous changes and developments in working environments, especially education and considering the importance of strengthening teachers' skills in education, it is necessary to hold in-service training courses for teachers. On the other hand, due to the ineffectiveness of these courses in relation to teachers' skills, it is necessary to investigate and study these courses. The current research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the curriculum content of in-service courses for primary school teachers in strengthening their educational competencies. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. This questionnaire consists of 30 items in three scales and is designed based on a five-point Likert scale. The statistical population in this research included all primary school teachers in the fifth district of Tehran, numbering 1420 people. These 303 people were selected by random sampling using Morgan's table as a statistical sample. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (one-sample T-test) were used for data analysis. According to the results of the research, it is need to pay attention to the concepts of science and educational methods in these courses. In these courses, more attention should be paid to other dimensions of teacher skills such as creativity, practical thinking, and research. Finally, these courses should be changed from theoretical to practical workshops.
