Evaluation of Computer Literacy Teaching in Work Book and Technology Book of Elementary Sixth Grade from Teachers’ Perspective

Abstract

Today's students require computer literacy skills from early ages, in addition to learning to read and write and learning thematic various areas, to form the infrastructure of the real purpose of education "learning to learn", and students work as independent and lifelong learners in community. According to the new approach of country education system and computer skills teaching in elementary school in two last year, the purpose of this research is identify and investigate the damages and the barriers of computer literacy teaching from the perspective of classroom administrators. The research method is descriptive survey. The statistical population included all sixth grade teachers (due to teaching new book of work and Technology) of Kabudrahang city who were 98 person. According to the small number of teachers, all of whom were selected. Finally, Data were collected from 73 of teachers in the context of research subject. Measuring tool was a researcher- made questionnaire with 38 items, that its reliability was estimated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient 90/0. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical methods (factor analysis, T One Sample, T Independent Sample). The research results show that teachers do not have the necessary fluency, literacy and competency necessary to Computer literacy teaching. Influential factors such as the content of the sixth grade Book, teachers' method of teaching, academic and information capabilities of teachers, school facilities, in-service training of teachers is accompanied by weakness and shortcomings, which requires rethinking and more support from the authorities of education.
