The Correlation between Professors Character with Dialogue-based Learning (Case Study on Isfahan University)

Abstract

The present study investigates the correlation between professor’s character and education based on dialogue from the perspective of Isfahan University students using method of structural equation modeling. The research is practical and descriptive using correlation method. The population of survey was 13281 students of Isfahan University which 220 of them were selected by random sampling method. The research tool was questionnaire made by researcher that its validity was confirmed through review by experts and its reliability was 0.97 that calculated via Cronbach's alpha. Data were analyzed in SPSS, PLS and AMOS software. The results showed there is a strong correlation between professors’ character and dialog-based education (t=60.95). Also sub-hypotheses suggest that there is correlation between each dimension of the character, humility, humor, tact, enthusiasm, and compassionate and dialog-based education. But the correlation between two dimension of the character, i.e. honesty and courage, and dialog-based education was not confirmed. So, it can be concluded that in order to operate the dialogue-based education in educational systems, t professors must be hired or employed who have high character.
