Study on Relation of Children’s Attitude towards Creativity and Social Creativity with Intermediation of Locus of Control

Abstract

Attitude has an important role in displaying various behaviors. This research has surveyed the role of intermediation of locus of control in children’s social creativity, regarding to their creative attitudes. Sample size was 105 males and females of fifth-grade in primary school which was selected by clustering sampling method among four distinct of education in Shiraz city. Social creativity based on Machirad and Lubart method, locus of control via Nowicki and Strickland internal and external locus of control scale and also attitude towards creativity was measured by Schaefer and Bridges creative attitude questionnaire. Also, reliability and validity of the tools was measured. Results show that creative attitude is negative and significant predicator of locus of control and on the other hand, locus of control is negative and significant predicator of creative attitude. Results, also emphasis on the positive and significant role of creative attitude towards social creativity, regarding the intermediation role of locus of control.
